Sept. Gathering Recap, Arrow Coprs 5 and Much Much More

From Tom Price, Section Chief:

Brothers and Chiefs,

Guys, I am really happy with how things went this past weekend. The meeting was just what I think we needed to kick Conclave 2008 into gear. I was personally impressed with all the suggestions and ideas about the theme "Lenni Lonopoly". Now that we have a theme we can work on PROGRAM, the most important part of and why we all attend conclave.

For all of you that were at the Gathering, I spoke about our new National Program and Arrow Corps 5 CVC Rob Marks. He is now on the COC and will be getting in contact with each lodge very soon. Make sure you all assign a 5@5 chairman and advisor and send that information on to myself and Rob. Anyone interested in going to any OAHA this year, applications are on the websites, Sectional, Region, National and Each of the Three OAHA websites. Please get as many of your lodge members to attend Arrow Corps 5 and OAHA this year.

The last thing that was touched on at the gathering was how important our section history is and some of the ideas about this year. Recently the region created a "SWAT" team to collect all the histories of the lodges around the sections. Attached is the guide sheet that the section wants each lodge to fill out and send in. Please send it to Paul Froman as it states at the bottom of the sheet and to me for our own section records.

For any one that was not at the Gathering, listed below were some of the new ideas, topics, agenda items that took place:

"Lenni Lonopoly" was announced that the theme, it was voted appon at the Friday night conclave COC, for any on that was not there.

Wagion Lodge gave a camp tour and introduced what they would offer to each of the other lodges and how that could assist with their conclave responsibilities.

There will be a "Conclave OA Museum" and Lodge Displays will be needed from each lodge to be displayed there. The display should include pictures, patches, lodge history. (Along the same lines as the Lodge Displays at NOACs in the past)

A training award system and a 4 year strategic plan were introduced and added to be approved upon in November. A file was introduced that is giving the section officers an idea of what needs to be given extra attention this year.

Nachamawat's Lodge SAT team meeting was completed and Lodge 6 and 57 need to be completed next year, hopefully before conclave.

We are asking each lodge to donate 7-10 flaps and/or other pieces that could be sold at the Conclave Auction. The region is also having an auction and is asking for a lodge flap from everyone, so if you can donate, please contact me in the next week or so.

The approximate cost of conclave is $36, so it was brought up to each lodge that they might fund raise to bring the cost of conclave down and maybe get some of those members who need assistance to conclave.

Any questions, please e-mail me ASAP so that we can get things handled. I will be at Wagion's weekend and Monaken's Weekend and Banquet at the end of October and beginning of November. If any lodges would like myself or Rob to come talk about conclave, Arrow Corps 5 or OAHA please let us know.

Have a great couple of weeks and I will see you all again in November.
