OA High Adventure Photo Contest

(Re-posted from an independent OA mailing list)

Hello Arrowmen,

I wanted to bring to your attention a photo contest being run by the national
high adventure promotional team for the fall of 2008. Each year we strive to
reach out and encourage more and more young and enthusiastic arrowmen to
attend one of the OA's three high adventure programs (OA Trail Crew, OA
Wilderness Voyage, and OA Ocean Adventure). Our biggest promotional tools are
the stories and photos from past participants and this year we have an
incentive for arrowmen that are willing to share those stories and photos with
us.

Each month we will evaluate the entries and pick one monthly winner as
well as a grand prize winner on January 1st, 2009. Each monthly winner will
be given a gift certificate to the trading post of the base of their choice
and the grand prize winner will have the option of having their OATC or OAWV
fee waived or having their OAOA fee reduced by $200. It is a great way to
inspire other arrowmen to continue on the patch of service while being
rewarded for your time and commitment.

If you know of any arrowmen in your lodge or section that might be willing to
participate, please forward this email to them. While we do not have many
youth on this list, the adults of the OA play a crucial role in attendance of
these programs because with so many youth looking up to you, your
encouragement and ability to spread the word could make the difference between
filling the programs in 2009 and beyond or starting the summer with unfilled
spots. I hope you all will join us in the promotion of high adventure in 2009
and if you are a past participant, be looking out for more information about
the high adventure reunion at NOAC this summer.

For the complete contest rules and details about the programs in general,
please visit http://www.adventure.oa-bsa.org and
click on the photo/quote contest link in the middle of the homepage. If you
have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Ryan Braddy
