Section Assistance Team Needed

By Sean Hastings, Section Vice-Chief

Brothers,

I have confirmed with Enda Lechauhanne that their Section Visitation
will be held at Enda's Winterfest event on the weekend of January
25-27th. The actual visitation will most likely be on that Saturday.

I am calling out to you, the Council of Chiefs because I need members
for my Section Assistance Team. It is with a variety of opinions and
viewpoints that new ideas are made which is why I would like to build
a team with brothers from multiple lodges across the section. If you
are interested or you know someone in your lodge who would be
interested, please contact me at s.p.hastings@iup.edu. Thank you.

ArrowCorps5: Section NE-4B Answers the Call

(by Rob Marks, Section Arrow Corps 5 Chairman)

Every Lodge in NE-4B has plans to attend one or more of the ArrowCorps5
projects in the summer of 2008. Over 60 Arrowmen in our section will have an
unforgettable experience in the summer of 2008! This is a testimony to the
quality of leadership in each of our Lodges and their commitment to the values
of our Order.

The next steps:

Recruit additional members to join the FUN!

Collect and submit deposits with Form B to National.

Work on travel and sightseeing plans.

Start physical conditioning and schedule a physical exam (if needed) for the Class 3 medical form.

Watch the web for updates. Administrative, transportation and program information will be available online no later than March 1, 2008.

Staff is still needed for most projects. Squad Leaders are the essential
element to the successful completion of each project. Arrowmen must be 18
before June 1, 2008 to be a Squad Leaders or 16 before June 1 to be an
Assistant Squad Leader. If you are interested in being on staff, visit http://event.oa-bsa.org/ and click on the
"For Staff" link to download a staff application. Squad Leaders who did not
participate in the conservation track at NCLS will be asked to arrive on site
early and participate in a two-day training (Shasta-Trinity project has a
training scheduled for February).

For more information on ArrowCorps5 or to schedule a Lodge presentation,
feel free to contact Rob Marks or Tom Price.

ArrowCorps5 Sites - Filling Fast!

(by Rob Marks, Section Arrow Corps 5 Chairman)

ArrowCorps5 site George Washington & Jefferson National Forest in Virginia on June 21-28, 2008 is already OVER 50% full (that's over 500 participants and staff already registered), with a number of solid deposit commitments on the way

"Council Contingent Coordinator Appointments (Form A)" is due at the
National Office by November 15. This only provides preliminary estimates of
participants. "Council Deposit Transmittal (Form B)" is due February 1,
however we suggest sending your form and deposit in early to make sure you have
slots at the project you desire!

THANK YOU to all the Lodges for doing a great job in promoting AC5 by adding
the AC5 graphic to their webpages, including articles and flyers in their
newsletters and having presentations at their meeting. THANK YOU also to the
Lodges for supplying the names and contact information for their 5@5
Coordinators and Advisors.

Next Up:

We want to publish the site your Lodge has chosen on the website.

We will have an ArrowCorps5 display available for your Lodge events.

NE-4B is leading the way in the Northeast Region for ArrowCorps5! Tom
Price is committed to being a trailblazer section and we are well on the way
toward that goal. Tom and all the section officers are ready and available to
help every Lodge achieve Trailblazer designation!

Chiefly Speaking

(by Tom Price, Section Chief)

Brothers,

The leaves are changing and the chill is in the breeze, but the NE-4B is moving right along. I, along with Ken Hager, current Northeast Region Chief and past NE-4B chief, staffed the Fall NLS at Camp Alpine in New Jersey. It was a great time with arrowmen from across the region in attendence. Wagion, Ah'Tic and Ahtuhquog all had youth and adults attending NLS and NLATS. This spring, Camp Guyasta will be the host to the Spring NLS. Since it will be in our section and in Enda's Backyard, I think it would be wise to send any members who need to be trained on the region level. It is a great experience and will help your lodge's newer and up and coming members more about leadership, teamwork and the order itself.

(by Rob Marks, Section Arrow Corps 5 Chairman)

The Order of the Arrow is calling you and your Lodge members for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

You should have heard about Arrow Corps 5 by now, but in case you are new to the OA or you have been living under a rock for the last year, here are the details:

During the summer of 2008, the Order of the Arrow will deliver one of the largest conservation efforts in Scouting's history. Arrow Corps 5 will be unlike any program the Boy Scouts of America has ever offered. More than 5,000 Arrowmen will converge on five national forests over five different weeks to make a difference that will literally last a lifetime.
